About AAD
Arts Against Dehumanization is an online community of artists, scholars, and creative thinkers committed to exploring the arts as a practice that restores, resists, and collectively imagines a more equitable world. We celebrate this humanist practice as a form of voicing our experiences and shared humanity at a time when authoritarianism and fascism is taking hold in the U.S. and globally. We cultivate inclusive, equitable, and resilient spaces to resist the dehumanization of everyday power structures that reduce our humanity and collective consciousness into despair. We want each of our members to feel seen, heard, and celebrated as engaged and valued citizens.
Ways To Get Involved
We host monthly coffee hours and distribute a monthly newsletter with updates and upcoming opportunities. In our first collective creative project, IMAGININGS, we showcase our collective purpose and galvanize our community through a richly textured visualization of our shared values––the call is open through Dec. 15, 2026. We also have positions available to anyone who would like to join our planning activities.
